The CMS Collaboration announced 14 new results for LHCP 2025.
In top quark physics, CMS presents the first observation of production of a single top quark in association with a W and a Z boson. This was accomplished using 200 fb-1 of data collected during Run 2 and the ongoing Run 3 of the LHC.
In the search for supersymmetry, CMS presents another result to close in on compressed mass spectra by looking for Higgsinos in final states with low-momentum lepton-track pairs. Another highlight is an all-round search for supersymmetry by exploring a wide variety of final states with different types of boosted particles, in a new analysis called “razor boost”.
In flavour physics, for the first time ever, CMS announces a result wherein the excited states of three beauty mesons are fully reconstructed and their masses are measured directly. The results are consistent with, and an order of magnitude more precise than, the current world average values.
In the search for exotic final states, CMS utilises machine learning to set limits on beyond-the-standard-model particles with masses as low as a few tens-of-MeVs.
Another key highlight is a new machine-learning algorithm to improve the reconstruction of invisible particles – called DeepMET – which has been integrated into the CMS software framework, and was in fact already used in the measurement of the W boson mass announced a few months ago.
Here is a list of all our results presented at the conference.
